52 Mini Albums Journals & Such; Project 28: Peek Wrap

Until I can figure out my video camera to Windows 8 to YouTube mystery, I'm going to do some of the one page tuts on my blog. This is one that has been done in several different styles but I like this one where the inside flips peek out the front opening. This will be a go to for different picture sizes as there is room for both larger and smaller photos. As you know, my favorite pic size is the wallet size because my printer will print NINE on one page for me. Quick and easy and saves paper!

First we are going to take a 12" x 12" double sided designer paper. I am using a piece of Lost & Found by My Mind's Eye called Portobello Road "Party" Celebrate.

I have positioned it to get the best display of graphics so check your design before cutting!

The top piece measures 12" long and 4" high. It will be scored at 2.5", 2.75", 9.25" and 9.5"

Your second strip measures 12" x 3.5". It is scored at 3" and 9".

The third strip measures 12" x 2". Cut it down into (2) 3.5" x 2" and (1) 5" x 2" pieces. Cut this 5" x 2" piece from corner to corner to create two triangles. Score a .5" flap on the 2 straight edges on both triangles.

Your remaining 12" x 2.5" piece is cut into (2) 4.5" x 2.5" and (1) 3" x 2.5".  On the (2) 4.5" x 2.5", score a .5" flap on the two short edges and one long edge on each.

Punch thumb holes as shown on the two 4.5" x 2.5" pocket pieces and the center top of the 12" x 3.5" piece which was your SECOND strip.

I rounded my corners on my wrap pieces, my 4.5" x 2.5" pocket lower corners and my 3" x 2.5" tag as shown. Angle cut the bottom corner of your two triangle pocket pieces and the top corners of your 3.5" x 2" tags. Punch a hole in the top of your tags.

Assembly:

Attach your two pockets to each end of your 12" x 3,5" strip (SECOND STRIP),
Attach your triangles by glueing the bottom triangle flap UNDER your strip and your side flaps under being careful not to go past the 3" and 9" score lines.

Position your pocketed strip on top of your 12" x 4" strip, matching the bottom edge. Glue down the bottom and the sides (if desired) staying inside the 3" and 9" score line to create a pocket. I leave the sides open and still use it as a pocket.

Insert tags where ever you like and add your own photos filling the pockets and on the flaps. Decorate away!

Tie a ribbon around it to close it if needed. This will be a fun one to make for friends with clever papers...looks complicated but takes less than 10 minutes! Let me see your creations please and thank you! Tell your friends that I will have tuts here for a while. Thank you, be blessed and HUGS! KitB

File Me and Large Tag Mini

Here are the latest Projects on my You Tube vids....File Me and the Large Tag Mini. Easy and fun! The File Me can be used as a mini album on it's own, but I am adding it inside my travel journal mini to make a space for more pictures.

The Large Tag Mini is perfect for me......now I can keep all my tags together and sitting on a bookshelf instead of spread all over the place! Makes me feel much more organized.....the key word is FEEL as I am not at all organized in real life! LOL!

Hope everyone had a Blessed Easter and catch me up with yourselves when you can!
Hugs, Kit

Latest Graphic 45 Mini Album Journal Old Curiosity Shoppe!

Sorry I have been silent......have had dental problems and hubby had Kidney Stones and it's just been a couple of those weeks! Things are better and I finally had a chance to upload a video today so wanted to get some non-moving photos on my Blog in case some of you get sea sick from too much video stimulation! This album has tons of pages so here are just a few of my favorites. The Diamond pocket, journaling tags and the Days of the Week round journaling cards and pocket are now on my Etsy Shop (Paperkitz) as digital downloads if anyone wants to try some. Very inexpensive...just enough to help me buy more paper and ink and pay my Etsy and PayPal fees! We all need that, don't we?! Here you go.....

If you haven't tried this paper yet, you need to! So unusual and just pure FUN to play with! Let me know what you think and if you've tried it, please and thank you! Check out my latest video to see previews of upcoming attractions, too! Be Blessed, my friends! Hugs, Kit

Tags, Pockets and Envelope!

Project Two of my 52 Mini Album Journals and Such is making three tags, pockets and an envelope from only 1 sheet of 12 x 12 double sided paper. The two You Tube videos (Part A and Part B) are uploading now so if you like, please go watch how to make them. (Search Paperkitz) The reason there are so many in the photo is because I had to start over THREE times.....me and the video camera were having fightin' words! It is supposed to video for an hour. Mine seems to want to take naps and go for a coffee break when ever the mood hits it so I am yakking away, cutting my paper and having a good old time and I look up and the light is off. I seem to have been visiting with MYSELF for the last 10 minutes! Anyway, these are some different designs and instead of having to run to the shop to buy some....make them yourself out of your left over papers! Hope you have fun!

Gigi's Grandpeeps Birdhouse Mini

Here is my birdhouse mini that I showed how to make on my last You Tube Video....all decorated!  I know I said I wanted to do one with bright colors to put pics of the Grandbabies in, but after doing the video, I LOVED the Glitz Paper I used and knew I didn't want to give it away.  A sure way for me to keep something is.....Put Pics of the Babes In It!  Thought it might give you some ideas on what to do with yours.  Remember, you can make around SIX of these base albums in an hour so get Crackin'!  Use up that extra paper!LOL....Hugs!

Sewing Mini Album Journal

Here is another mini I made using a version of Jennibellie's spine system.  Now I can keep track of all those sewing projects I do.  Used cards and envelopes for pockets.  Organized and ready to sew!  LOVE using corrugated cardboard!

Margaret's Birdhouse

I was thinking about what to take as a gift to a party for a friend of ours that was turning 60.  She loves country and birdhouses and I don't really do county designs....vintage and primitive, yes, but not really classic country.  I decided to go for an eclectic country combining some of my vintage with cheerful colors revolving around a more bright blue instead of country blue.  The corrugated card was just the thing to tie it all together, I do believe!  And she loved it!  Here are some photos so you can judge if you think she really liked it or was just being nice!  To see the full journey in creating this mini album journal, please check out my You Tube Video that I will hopefully have uploaded by tomorrow!

What I've Done With My Christmas Cards....

I am one of those who sufferes from CCG.  I've had it for years and just can't seem to overcome it.  Maybe some of you have it, too?  Yes, I have CHRISTMAS CARD GUILT!  That's right....I CAN'T throw them away....it just doesn't seem right.  Every year they sit piled on a corner of my desk while I await a brilliant inspiration to come over me.  Last year.....no ideas.  I even went so far as to add the 2010 cards UNDER the 2011 cards we started to receive!  Sad, isn't it.  Makes us look real popular, though!  Christmas Cards halfway up to the ceiling!  LOL!  Our of the blue, I ran across this video on You Tube by Jennibellie and all my problems were solved!!  Here are photos of the album I made using my Christmas Cards and the binding tutorial from Jennibellie.  I also did a You Tube Video telling more about the album, so please visit me there, too.  I had to do a Part 1 and Part 2 since I can't seem to STOP TALKING!!!
